Kenny Omega is still at least a couple of months away from being able to return to the ring as he recovers from various injuries.
Omega is scheduled for a sports hernia surgery at the end of March, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Omega said in an interview last month that recovery from that surgery would be about 6-8 weeks.
He’s also currently recovering from a recent arthroscopic knee surgery, which is about a 10 week recovery time, but it’s not clear when exactly he had the surgery. Omega said last month that the hernia surgery would be the procedure that requires the longest recovery time and he’d likely be able to return once he’s cleared from that.
A 6-8 week recovery from the hernia surgery could mean that he’d be able to return between mid-May and the end of May. AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV will take place on May 29, so it’s possible that he could be ready in time for that if all goes well.
At this point there is no timetable for his return yet, though, the Observer says.
Omega last wrestled at AEW Full Gear on November 13 and has been out to take care of a variety of injuries, including a hernia, knee injuries, a shoulder injury and a nose injury, among other things.
