AEW Talent Reportedly Expected to Appear at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17
AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling reportedly are currently working on plans for AEW talent to perform at next year’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that it is currently not known how many AEW talents will be traveling to Japan for NJPW’s two-night Wrestle Kingdom 17 event but there have been recent talks between both companies over potential plans for the event.
“I don’t know how many but I have, in fact, been told of certain plans for AEW wrestlers on Wrestle Kingdom.”
Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known how AEW will handle the tapings of their weekly shows that week due to the amount of talent that would be absent. Meltzer speculated that AEW likely will not pre-tape that week’s Dynamite episode ahead of time and instead will air it as a regular live show.
“I have no idea that they are going to tape two weeks ahead, I’m going to guess that they won’t, I think they are going to go live but there are plans for certain AEW guys to be at the Tokyo Dome show, yes.”
