Nigel McGuinness was released by WWE earlier this week, according to PWInsider.
He had been most recently working as a commentator for NXT UK and NXT Level Up. NXT UK was effectively shut down in August and WWE announced a major shakeup to their commentary teams yesterday.
McGuinness, a former ROH World Champion and ROH Pure Champion, signed with WWE in 2016 and made his WWE commentary debut in January 2017 for WWE’s UK Championship tournament. During his WWE career, he did commentary for NXT UK, NXT, NXT Level Up / 205 Live and WWE Main Event.
