The October 14th AEW Rampage show featured the official AEW debuts of The Kingdom’s Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that all three recently signed multi-year contracts with AEW. It was reported that they were not actually signed to deals when they made their official debuts but did so some time afterwards.
In regards to Kanellis, it was reported that her contract is a talent-only type deal and she is currently not expected to wrestle. Kanellis had stated in past interviews that she would like to help ROH owner Tony Khan with the booking of ROH’s Women’s division for the company’s revival.
It was also reported that FTR had pushed for AEW to sign the trio and wanted to have a feud setup with them for the ROH Tag Team Championship.
It was also reported that besides Taven, WWE was also interested in signing Kanellis and Bennett to potential deals with the company prior to their AEW debuts.
