Fightful Select reported that their sources recently provided updates on several AEW talents who are currently absent from AEW programming due to injuries and other issues.
In regards to Hikaru Shida, it was reported that she is still currently recovering from her recent finger injury and she recently traveled back to Japan.
In regards to Miro, it was reported that the situation regarding his lengthy absence from AEW over creative-related issues has remained generally the same in recent weeks. It was reported that Miro and AEW officials did have talks at some point regarding potential creative plans for his return but it is not known if there has been any new talks between the two sides since that time. It was also reported that Miro is currently healthy and ready to make his return in the future.
In regards to Kris Statlander, it was reported that she was seen backstage at several of AEW shows in recent weeks while she continues her recovery from an ACL injury this past August. It was reported that she was specifically seen at AEW’s recent shows in Lexington, Kentucky and Toronto, Canada. AEW officials reportedly still expect her to be out of action for a while due to the nature of her injury.
In regards to Leyla Hirsch, it was reported that her recovery from knee surgery this past May was stated to be “slowly getting there” and she recently resumed in-ring training.
In regards to Scorpio Sky’s lengthy absence, it was reported that several AEW talents spoken to stated that they were surprised he did not show up backstage during AEW’s shows in Los Angeles, California this past January. It was also reported that Sky has not been seen backstage at AEW tapings lately. It was also reported that Sky still has several years left with his current contract in AEW.
