This past Monday’s WWE RAW After WrestleMania show in Los Angeles, California featured a tag team match of Cody Rhodes & Brock Lesnar vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Roman Reigns). Before the match could even start, Lesnar launched a ambush attack on Rhodes and continued with his lengthy attack to close out the show.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that while WWE officials had made some adjustments to their original plans for Rhodes on the show, they always had planned for Lesnar to attack Rhodes to close out the show.
It was reported that WWE’s plans for a feud between Rhodes and Lesnar after WrestleMania 39 was something that had been decided upon well before Vince McMahon’s very hands-on involvement at this past Monday’s show.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Lesnar had been made aware of the creative plans for him following WrestleMania 39 around a month before the event. It was reported that it is currently not known if all of WWE’s creative team was aware of these plans beforehand but those who had knowledge, specifically Lesnar, were aware of this being the plan going forward.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE officials had made several hints in their presentation of Lesnar of an upcoming heel turn during his recent feud with Omos. This reportedly included him not getting back into the ring with Omos, backing out of some in-ring interactions, and avoiding contact before their match at WrestleMania 39.
It was reported that WWE officials had laid out their heel turn plans for Lesnar a month before this past Monday’s show. This reportedly included the exact sequence for his heel turn where he would stand side-by-side with Rhodes and then eventually ambush attack him with a F5.
