As noted before, Impact Wrestling recently announced that their upcoming Impact television tapings this Friday in Chicago, Illinois will be featuring a “major surprise.”
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that this “major surprise” will be the official Impact debut of Trinity Fatu, former Naomi in WWE.
Johnson reported that Fatu’s upcoming appearance for Impact is not a one-off type deal and instead will be the start of an actual career for her in the company.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed PWInsider’s report and stated that the two sides had been in talks for a while for a potential contract.
In recent months, Fatu had been seen in attendance backstage at shows for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and Ring of Honor. It was reported that WWE officials had felt confident at one point that they would bring Fatu back into the company but they have not made no new main roster hires since the start of this year.
This will be the first time that Naomi has wrestled since this past May in WWE and had confirmed this past March that she had left the company. Prior to her departure, Naomi had been absent from WWE due to her serving a suspension over a walkout incident at a RAW show this past May in Norfolk, Virginia.
