WWE’s current television partners FOX and NBC Universal both held their Upfronts presentations on Monday in New York City, New York for their Fall 2023 season programming on their networks.
In an interesting note, neither FOX nor NBC mentioned WWE during their presentations with the exception of a brief mention in a video package by NBC for their Peacock streaming service. Both FOX and NBC’s presentations also did not feature any appearances by WWE personalities.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer and PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the reason for the lack of mentions or spotlight on WWE during FOX and NBC’s Upfronts was due to how both networks currently view their WWE programming.
Both FOX and NBC reportedly currently categorize WWE alongside their sports properties while their Upfronts presentations were primarily focused on their entertainment programming. This reportedly was the reason for the lack of WWE mentions during both presentations.
