WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon reportedly made last minute changes to the original plans for this past Monday’s RAW show in Albany, New York, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that AJ Styles was not originally planned to make an appearance at the show but this was something that McMahon had requested to be done. Johnson reported that portions of WWE’s plans for RAW were reconfigured to fit in Styles’ involvement at this past Monday’s show.
In regards to the backstage reaction, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that many within the company have been in a “wait and see” mode over McMahon’s involvement with the creative plans for shows since WrestleMania 39. It was reported that McMahon has been making regular changes to WWE shows remotely but he has not appeared backstage over the past month.
Some of those spoken to reportedly stated that when McMahon was around backstage in person, the changes made to creative plans tended to be a lot heavier and had less reason to them while others spoken to stated that McMahon has still be making heavy changes to shows remotely.
Several talent spoken to stated that they have had more flexibility for their promos of late than when McMahon used to be physically around backstage.
