As noted before, AEW was estimated to have generated around 130,000 to 135,000 pay-per-view buys for this past May’s Double or Nothing 2023 event based on early estimates and data.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that for the second pay-per-view event in a row, AEW generated a large growth in late PPV buys in the second week after an AEW event.
Meltzer reported that for the period between June 1st to June 7th, there was an increase of around 12.8% in late PPV purchases for Double or Nothing 2023. As a result of this large increase, Meltzer reported that Double or Nothing’s PPV buys is currently around 0.9% higher than what this past March’s Revolution 2023 event had generated for buys during the same time period after its show.
Meltzer reported that Double or Nothing 2023 is now currently estimated to have generated around 140,000 PPV buys based on updated estimates and data. Meltzer also reported that this would mean that Double or Nothing 2023 would keep in tact the current streak of every AEW event generating 140,000 or more in buys since last year’s Forbidden Door event.
