Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced that Seth Rollins took their top spot for this year’s PWI 500 List. This is the second time in Rollins’ career that he was ranked as PWI’s top wrestler for a particular year, previously topping their list in 2019.
This year’s rankings covered the time period between July 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023 and wrestlers were ranked based on a criteria of win-loss record, technical ability, influence on the sport, success against the highest grade of competition, success against the most diverse competition, and activity.
WWE had the most wrestlers ranked in PWI’s Top 10 at four, followed by AEW at three, and New Japan Pro Wrestling, Lucha Libre AAA, and Impact Wrestling at one each.

Following the release of PWI’s Top 10 rankings, Rollins reflected on Twitter over the achievement with a photo of The Shield doing a fist bump symbolizing how himself, Reigns, and Moxley have all topped PWI’s Top 500 List in recent years.
