As noted before, Will Ospreay signed an official contract with AEW at their Full Gear 2023 event earlier this month in Los Angeles, California. Prior to his signing, WWE and Impact Wrestling had also been interested in signing Ospreay to a potential deal for their respective companies.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated Impact officials had made what was described as a “fantastic, massive offer” to Ospreay prior to his signing with AEW.
One Impact source spoken to reportedly stated that it was likely the largest offer given by the company to a single star since Anthem bought the company. This same source reportedly stated that it was a “seven figure level offer.” This same source also reportedly stated that when Ospreay had worked at Impact’s recent tapings in Chicago, he seemed to had a great time leading to several talents being under the belief that he would be joining them full-time next year. This belief reportedly was also influenced by Ospreay’s promo he gave at the tapings about wanting to compete in a TNA ring.
Besides Ospreay, Impact officials reportedly also made a hard run at CM Punk prior to WWE entering the picture late and signing him to their company instead.
