Thor ruled the box office for a second weekend. The comic book epic kept the #1 spot with a $34.5 million take. That is a 48% drop which is better than any of the Avengers-related films to date, including Iron Man. The film has a two-weekend domestic total of $119.3 million and a worldwide total of $317.7 million form a $150 million budget.
The comedy Bridesmaids took the #2 spot with a $24.4 million gross, better than expected. The Kristin Wiig-led film opened in 2,918 for an $8,365 per-theater average. The movie had a budget of $32.5 million.

Rio held even at #5 in its fifth week with $8 million. The film now has a domestic total of $125.0 million and a worldwide total of $415.0 million on a $90 million budget.
Jumping the Broom fell three spots to #3 spot in its second weekend with $7.3 million. The wedding comedy fell 52%, high for its genre, and now has a $26 million gross off a $6.6 million budget.
Something Borrowed also fell three spots to #7 with $7 million. The Gennifer Goodwin/Kate Hudson romantic comedy had a 49% drop, also higher than average. It has a domestic gross of $25.6 million and a worldwide total of $28.3 million from a $35 million budget.
Water for Elephants dropped another two spots to #8 with $4.1 million. The romantic drama has a domestic total of $48.5 million after three weeks and a worldwide total of $69.8 million from a $38 million budget.
Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family dropped two spots to #9 in its fourth week. The film brought in $2.2 million and now has $50.2 million from a budget of $25 million.
Soul Surfer held on for one more week, slipping one spot to #10 with $1.8 million. The biopic drama has a total gross of $39.2 million after six weeks. The budget was $18 million.
