WWE officials reportedly currently do not have any major plans for Cody Rhodes and his Undisputed WWE Championship, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently do not have any major creative plans for Rhodes’ direction as current Undisputed WWE Champion until after Roman Reigns and The Rock returns. Meltzer reported that the only other notable major star Rhodes could feud with for his title is Randy Orton but WWE officials have done nothing to tease that being a potential direction for him.
Meltzer reported that this was the main reason why WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque made the decision for Rhodes’ first title defense to be against someone on paper who can provide the best match over going with someone who is over big as a hot challenger. Meltzer reported that this is different than how WWE has historically done business when it comes to their top babyface star as champion.
