Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2024 event at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio featured Roman Reigns making his surprise return to WWE.
During the Bloodline Rules match between Solo Sikoa and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa were the first to interfereed in the match helping out Sikoa. This led to Kevin Owens and then Randy Orton running out to save Rhodes and eventually chased Tama and Loa through the crowd to the back. After some more back-and-forth action between Sikoa and Rhodes, The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu ran out and proceeded to attack Rhodes laying him out. Fatu appeared to suffer a potential knee injury after hitting a splash off the top rope and landed rough onto Rhodes through the announcer’s table.
After some more action between Sikoa and Rhodes, Reigns’ music played leading to the crowd roaring in celebration and he came out making his way to the ring. Reigns proceeded to hit a Superman Punch to Sikoa and followed it with a spear laying him out. This led to Rhodes staring at Reigns as he left the ring and continued as Reigns turned around to look back towards the ring. This led to Rhodes picking up Sikoa and hit a Cross Rhodes for the pinfall victory as Reigns continued to look on. Following the match, Rhodes and Reigns continued their staredown as the show went to a close.
