As noted before, Becky Lynch’s contract with WWE expired on June 1st and she is currently a free agent. Lynch is currently on a break from wrestling but is believed to be returning to WWE in the future.
Following Sunday’s airing of the Lynch themed episode of Biography: WWE Legends on A&E, Lynch reflected on Instagram about her time as “The Man” in WWE and her wrestling career.
“It’s been a helluva career
Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.”
Lynch’s comments quickly led to online speculation of Lynch has retired from wrestling.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources within WWE stated that if that was an official retirement announcement from Lynch, they they were not informed of that being the case for her.
Those same sources spoken to reported stated that they “didn’t believe” Lynch would retire through an Instagram post.
Those same sources spoken to reportedly also noted that due to the belief that she is not under contract with WWE right now, Lunch does not have any obligation to inform the company of her decision to retire if that is the decision she makes.
Sapp reported that Lynch is very much still warmly regarded in WWE and the company wants to be “respectful of her space” after what she has given to the company. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Lynch would always be welcomed back into WWE.
