Young Bucks AEW Contract & Recent AEW TV Absence Update

As noted before, the Young Bucks’ current contract with AEW is believed to include terms for a limited number of dates for the reason why they did not make regular appearances on AEW television in recent months.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the reason why the Young Bucks missed two weeks of AEW shows following this year’s Blood & Guts show was due to they had been scheduled to take a small vacation break. Meltzer reported that this break was something that had been planned long in advance and they wanted the time off to sell their “injuries” from the Blood & Guts match.

Meltzer reported that while AEW did not push any storyline injuries following the Blood & Guts match to help explain the Young Bucks recent absence, their and Okada’s names were still used in storyline as being the ones who had suspended Britt Baker over Mercedes Mone’s request.

In regards to the status of their current contracts, Meltzer reported that the Young Bucks current contracts with AEW includes terms for fewer dates than their prior contract with the company. Meltzer reported that the Young Bucks had not ran through all of their number dates or anything similar to it for their recent break and instead it was simply due to their time off for a vacation had been something that was agreed to months ago. Meltzer reported that the Young Bucks had worked most Wednesday shows so far this year which means they did not sign a part-time deal nor are on a Brock Lesnar type work schedule.

In regards to the Young Bucks’ work schedule for the remainder of 2024, Meltzer reported that the Young Bucks likely will work most Wednesdays shows till the end of the year.
