As noted before, Jacob Fatu was involved in an incident in April of 2023 revolving around him no showing a booking for a charity event held by Jake’s Network of Hope and keeping the money after ghosting the organization. This incident took place during Fatu’s time with Major League Wrestling.
Fatu’s past incident recently resurfaced following a user asking a question on Reddit’s r/SquareCircle seeking an update on the situation. This led to a former charity worker’s husband responding and claimed that Fatu has still yet to repay the charity in full over the money he took for his no show booking.
“Hello I’m the one who originally posted about it. My wife worked for the non profit at the time, Jakes Network of Hope in Appleton/Neenah Wisconsin. No, unfortunately, he did not pay back the charity. He’s a fantastic in ring performer, and it sucks that this is all I can think about whenever l’ve seen him since he debuted in WWE.”
In an official statement to Sports Illustrated, Jake Network’s of Hope stated that they have contacted Fatu to discuss the matter privately and also confirmed that Fatu still has yet to repay them back in full.
“Jacob Fatu and our organization are addressing this matter privately, beginning with a phone call and heartfelt apology back in May. While the full amount owed hasn’t yet been repaid, we appreciated Jacob’s acknowledgment. It can be tough to face up to your wrongdoings, and we commend him for taking steps toward confronting his.”
