Adam Cole Comments on “Continuing the MJF Story After My Return was the Right Call”

A recent episode of The Danny Ocean Show podcast featured Adam Cole as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cole’s thoughts about AEW resuming his storyline feud with MJF being the “right call” following his return from a lengthy broken ankle injury.

“I think truth be told, when you look back at that six months that me and MJF had and the chemistry that we had, in a lot of ways, we kind of caught lightning in a bottle to the point where it did main event All In, which was really cool, and the unfortunate injury that happened, I just feel that the story that me and MJF told needs a definitive conclusion. I feel like it’s fair to the angle, it’s fair to the program that, coming back from injury, that’s exactly what I’m hopping into. Of course, you want to make as many people happy as possible. Then sometimes too with stories, it takes a little bit to get back to where you were because a lot of the stuff that we did was very slow-burn. So I’m confident in what we’re gonna bring to the table, I’m confident in what we’re gonna do, and I do think that us continuing this story with me coming back from injury was the right call, I do.”

Bobby Lashley Comments on His AEW World Title Match Goal Plans for AEW All In: Texas

A recent episode of The Lame Guys podcast featured Bobby Lashley as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Lashley’s thoughts about his current AEW career goal of wanting to be either the AEW World Champion or be competing for the title at AEW’s All In: Texas event next year.

“I want to be either defending the title or fighting for the title. I’ve won the ECW Title, WWE Title, TNA Title. AEW Title. I want to get it because I can, based on history, background, and who I am, I can have that title and it would be justified. More importantly, it’s something for other guys to work towards. I’m not an easy person to get to. When you get to it, you don’t necessarily want to be there. I want to get the title match and I win and win, but now I have the title match and it’s ‘Oh shit.’ Once I do that, I think it would be good for a lot of people at AEW to have that immovable object to get over. I can be that for a lot of people.”

AEW Full Gear 2024 News & Notes

WrestleTix reported that AEW had sold and distributed around 10,094 tickets for their Full Gear 2024 event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that there was a lot of praise backstage for Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander’s performance for their TBS Championship match at the event.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson also reported that his sources stated that AEW’s roster loved having Big Boom AJ, Big Justice, and The Rizzler of the Costco Guys at the show. Johnson reported that talents were seen all getting photos with the trio backstage during the show.

AEW officials originally had plans at one point for the TNT Championship match between Daniel Garcia and Jack Perry to go on earlier in the show before deciding to make a change in the card’s match order, according to PWInsider.

TNA Wrestling talent Steve Maclin reportedly was among those in attendance at AEW’s Full Gear 2024 event, according to PWInsider. Maclin is the husband of Deonna Purrazzo who had wrestled at the event and was in attendance to show his support.

The Renegade Twins, Robyn & Charlette Renegade, reportedly were also seen in attendance backstage at Full Gear, according to Fightful Select. It was reported that both Robyn and Charlette are currently expected to return to the ring soon for AEW.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Madison Rayne was the producer for the Deonna Purrazzo vs. Anna Jay match at the event.

AEW officials reportedly originally had plans for The Hurt Syndicate to take over a press conference at this past October’s WrestleDream 2024 event but those plans were delayed due to Bobby Lashley’s official AEW debut being pushed back, according to Fightful Select.

AEW officials reportedly were very pleased with the crowd’s reaction to the Costco Guys appearance at the event, according to Fightful Select. It was reported that those spoken to stated that there is mutual interest in the two sides working again in the future. In regards to the placement of their match on Full Gear 2024’s Zero Hour pre-show, QT Marshall reportedly had suggested the idea of placing his match with Big Boom AJ in the middle of Zero Hour to keep the momentum for the pre-show but AEW officials decided in the end to place the match last for their per-show.
