As noted before, Rey Fenix was released from AEW earlier this week and is currently a free agent. Fenix is currently expected to be joining WWE soon. The March 14th episode of WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain featured a vignette teasing the debut of a new mystery person speculated to be Fenix.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Fenix recently signed an official contract with WWE.
It was reported that WWE’s current plans is to debut Fenix on their SmackDown brand but the exact date for his official arrival is currently not known.
It was also reported that Fenix had underwent medical evaluations over the past several weeks in preparation of him joining WWE.
It was also reported that those spoken to stated that Fenix is currently not expected to speak heavily on his falling out in AEW similar to Penta after he left the company for WWE.
