Rob Van Dam Suffered Double Heel Fracture at MLW Battle Riot VII

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam had suffered an ankle-related injury at Major League Wrestling’s Battle Riot VII event earlier this month in Long Beach, California.

In a recent episode of the 1 Of A Kind podcast, RVD provided an update confirming the injury and stated that he had suffered a double heel fracture during the Battle Riot match he competed in.

“A lot of people don’t know that I got hurt because it was the very last move in the night. But I went up to the top rope and Matt Riddle pushed me off and then I landed on my feet. Normally I kind of like, hug the guardrail and my weight goes into it. This one I must have misjudged it a little bit, and I just landed on my feet.

Both heels blew. I thought that my ankles were sprained. I crawled out of there. I haven’t been able to walk since. And so I got the x-rays, both heels broke. It’s not something that I’m not used to, I kind of routinely kind of go through this thing, but, man, it definitely made me cancel a lot of plans that I had for the next few months and Wrestlecon and WrestleMania week, I made it through all the obligations.

In a classic nWo style vignette, Bischoff and Hogan also teased that they have a third mystery person involved with this new project.

Eric Bischoff – “Should we tell them who our third man is? Should we talk about his credentials? Should we talk about all of his championships? Should we talk about the world-class athletes that he has brought to the very top of this sport? Should we talk about that? No, not yet, not yet, not yet. But do stay tuned, because when we do announce our third man, it’s going to rock your world.”

Hulk Hogan – “He’s a badass, dude. He’s a real, real badass.”
