As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg will be having a retirement match in WWE for his wrestling career at some point this year.
My San Antonio held a recent interview with Goldberg. One of the topics discussed included Goldberg’s thoughts about the potential location for his retirement match in WWE.
“It’s going to be in the South. This gives me the opportunity to put a stamp on my career in front of the people I care the most about.”
In the article, it was stated that Goldberg has been approved by WWE officials for some creative control for the plans for the date announcement.
The 58-year-old still won’t say when the match will take place but said he’s been approved for some creative control of the rollout plans for the date’s announcement and even dropped a major hint about where the final fight will take place.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the current tentative plans is for Goldberg’s retirement match to take place in Atlanta, Georgia. This would tie into Goldberg’s deep history with the area over him playing football for both the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons.
In regards to a potential date for Goldberg’s retirement match, it was reported that WWE officials currently have a new Saturday Night’s Main Event show internally slated to take on July 12, 2025. This is the same date as AEW’s upcoming All In: Texas event.
It was also reported that nothing official has been made yet for Goldberg’s actual retirement match date plans but he is currently being discussed to appear on the planned upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta.
