WWE Reportedly Holding WWE NXT Show at 2300 Arena Week Before AEW’s Residency Stay at Venue
AEW announced earlier this month that they will be holding a new residency stay this August and September at the 2300 Arena, former ECW Arena, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
WrestleVotes Radio reported that their sources stated that WWE officials currently have scheduled an episode of WWE NXT to take place at the same venue on Tuesday, August 19th.
This upcoming show would be taking place eight days prior to the start of AEW’s upcoming residency stay in the same venue.
This will be the first time WWE will be holding a NXT show at the venue since the November 6, 2024 show.
Omos Comments on Him Just Waiting for In-Ring Return to WWE
Omos has been absent from WWE since the April 5, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown. During his current abscense, Omos had worked a brief stint for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan this past January.
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured Omos as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Omos’ thoughts about his current lengthy abscense from WWE and him just waiting to make his potential in-ring return to the company.
” I don’t know. I’m just waiting. I’m kind of in a scenario where I’m kind of like a special attraction. When that time comes [to be on TV], I’m ready.”
Omos also gave his thoughts about his brief time working for NOAH during his abscense from WWE.
“When you’re just waiting, and you gotta stay prepared, sometimes it puts you in this weird space where you just feel like you just train [and] you don’t know for what.
It was good for me to just get away. Get away, wrestle, I had a blast in Japan, and then come back, and I just feel like a new person.”
