Orange Cassidy Torn Pec Injury Update
As noted before, Orange Cassidy has been out of action for AEW since this past March due to an injury believed to be a torn pectoral.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that it is currently not known if Cassidy has undergone surgery for his injury based on his sources. Sapp reported that if Cassidy had underwent surgery, then his recovery would likely keep him out of action until later this year.
Cassidy last wrestled in an AEW International Championship Eliminator Tournament Final Four-way match at the March 19th AEW Dynamite show.
Britt Baker AEW Abscense & Contract Status Update
Britt Baker has been absent from AEW since this past November for reasons currently not known.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that Baker had signed a five-year contract extension in Fall of 2021 and her currently is not expected to expire until the Fall of 2026 at the very least.
Sapp reported that it is possible that the expiration date for Baker’s contract could go beyond that time period depending on if she has any injury time added to it.
AEW Double or Nothing 2025 Attendance & Early PPV Buys Estimates
AEW reportedly drew an attendance of 8,179 for their Double or Nothing 2025 event on May 25th at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
In regards to pay-per-view buys, Dave Meltzer reported that Double or Nothing 2025 is currently estimated to have generated around 122,000 to 130,000 PPV buys based on early numbers and estimates.
Meltzer reported that Double or Nothing 2025’s buys would be lower than this past March’s Revolution 2025 event but higher than this past April’s Dynasty 2025 event for recent AEW PPV events comparisons.
Meltzer also reported that one source spoken to stated that the streaming buys for Double or Nothing 2025 is expected to end up being very close to what Revolution generated and well above what Dynasty generated for numbers. In regards to cable PPV buys, Meltzer repoted that there were at least two major carriers who were up from Revolution but the general indication is that Double or Nothing’s cable PPV buys will end up being lower than what Revolution did.
