As noted before, next year’s WWE WrestleMania 42 event will no longer be taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Next year’s event is currently expected to now be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second year in a row for a WrestleMania event.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that WWE is very close to finalizing a deal with Las Vegas officials to bring WrestleMania 42 to the city.
Alvarez reported that there were a few hurdles to be cleared for this potential deal and several were resolved this morning. Vegas officials reportedly have been making a lot of concessions to clear the way for them to host next year’s event.
In regards to the issues that were holding up a potential deal for Las Vegas, Alvarez reported that one of the issues was with the stadium being planned to host the event. Alvarez reported that next year’s event is not being planned to take place at The Sphere and instead would be at the Allegiant Stadium for the second year in a row. This issue reportedly revolved around an unannounced concert taking place close enough to the planned date for WrestleMania 42 and the concern that there would not be enough time to set up the stage for the event. Alvarez reported that concert officials were unwilling to move when asked.
Alvarez also reported that there was an issue with the convention center being planned for next year’s WrestleMania 42 weekend festivities and while the specifics of how those hurdles were overcome are currently unknown, several were cleared this morning.
Alvarez also reported that an official announcement of Las Vegas being the host of next year’s event is currently expected to be made soon.
