As noted before, Japanese wrestler Daisuke Sekimoto suffered a serious injury at Big Japan Pro Wrestling’s event on May 29th in Tokyo, Japan that was originally believed to be spinal related.
Big Japan provided an update earlier today stating that Sekimoto had suffered a cervical spinal injury following the results of his medical tests.
It was also announced that Sekimoto is currently not dealing with any paralysis nor muscle weakness issues from his injury.
It was also announced that Sekimoto will be undergoing additional testing in two weeks to determine his recovery progress and a potential in-ring return for him.

●DiagnosisRe-examination was performed yesterday (June 2, 2025) at a hospital in Yokohama.
On the day of the match, he suffered damage to his neck bones from the front, causing cervical vertebrae to be injured.
He was diagnosed with a traumatic cervical spine injury.●Current status
No paralysis
No muscle weakness
●Time for return
The grade of the cervical spine injury is low and is considered to be similar to a concussion, but after discussion between the doctor, the player himself, and President Tosaka Eiji,
It has been decided that an additional examination will be conducted in two weeks to check the degree of recovery of the cervical spine and a decision will be made at that time.
●Training, etc.
I was told that there will be no restrictions on my daily life or training that does not put strain on my neck, but for the time being, I plan to only train to “get in shape” and “relieve and release stress.”
Regarding future preventative measures,
We have confirmed that we will further strengthen and thoroughly implement the current preventative measures after consulting with the doctor in charge.
