As noted before, R-Truth departed from WWE earlier this month due to his contract not being renewed. R-Truth’s announcement resulted in a lot of negative backlash by fans and from WWE talent at WWE over the way his departure was handled.
Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank 2025 event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California featured R-Truth making a surprise return appearance. This quickly led to online speculation of if Truth’s release was just some sort of elaborate work by WWE or if just WWE using him before his contract officially expired.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that R-Truth had signed a new contract with WWE over the past 72 hours.
Johnson reported that R-Truth had been in recent discussions with other promotions for appearances and bookings prior to WWE getting a new deal done for him.
Johnson also reported that R-Truth will be going under the ring name of “Ron Killings” in WWE going forward for the time being. This is R-Truth’s real name and the same ring name he used during his time in TNA Wrestling.
Following his surprise return, WWE released official merchandise for Truth under his “Ron Killings” name on their WWE Store online shop.
