As noted before, there have been conflicting reports over Seth Rollins’ knee injury situation at this past Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show being legit or a storyline injury and rumors of it being a cover for a different legit injury.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that multiple sources spoken to stated that Rollins’ knee injury at this past Saturday’s show was a “work” and that both talent and production people backstage were worked into thinking it was legitimate.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources within WWE had confirmed the same thing about Rollins’ “work” injury situation at the show.
In regards to Rollins’ knee injury this past Saturday’s show being a cover for another injury, Alvarez reported that one source spoken to stated that Rollins did have a very minor knee injury going into Saturday so the claim that he was hurt is somewhat true. Alvarez reported that Rollins’ actual injury is nothing serious that would keep him out of action for much time at all.
Alvarez also reported that the idea is to convince fans that Rollins is out for a long time so he can return “early” for a surprise cash-in.
