Brodido Advances to Semis & FTR Advances to Finals in AEW Tag Titles Eliminator Tournament
Thursday’s AEW Collision show at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois featured two matches for the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator tournament.
The first match was Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) defeating Gates of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) in a First Round match.

The second match was FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeating Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson) in a Semifinal Round match.
FTR are in the finals of the Forbidden Tag Team Eliminator Tournament.

As a result of their victories, FTR will be facing off against the winner of Young Bucks/Brodido in the Finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator tournament.
Swerve Strickland vs. Kazuchika Okada for AEW Unified Title Announced for Forbidden Door 2025
Thursday’s AEW Collision show also featured the first of two new matches announced for the card of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025.
This new match announced was an AEW Unified Championship match of Swerve Strickland vs. Kazuchika Okada (c).
This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Strickland and Okada’s bad blood issues with each other. During tonight’s show, a video aired featuring Strickland and Prince Nana being seen outside and Strickland issuing a challenge to Okada for his AEW Unified title for Forbidden Door.

In a follow-up segment, Don Callis and Okada were seen backstage responding to Strickland’s comments leading to Okada accepting the challenge for Forbidden Door. Afterwards, it was announced that this match was made official for the show.

Athena vs. “Timeless” Toni Storm for AEW Women’s Title Announced for Forbidden Door 2025
Thursday’s AEW Collision show also featured the second of two new matches announced for the card of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, which takes place on August 24th at The O2 Arena in London, England.
This new match announced was an AEW Women’s World Championship match of Athena vs. “Timeless” Toni Storm (c).
This match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Athena earning a shot at the AEW Women’s title for winning the Women’s Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas and the bad blood issues between Athena and Storm. During tonight’s show, Athena was seen backstage and talked about her title match contract and revealed that she is cashing in her title shot at Forbidden Door 2025. Afterwards, it was announced that this match was made official for the event.

Thursday’s AEW Collision show also featured Kyle Fletcher defeating Dustin Rhodes in a Chicago Street Fight match to become the new AEW TNT Champion.
