As noted before, John Cena’s retirement tour is currently expected to end in mid-December with the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts as the rumored location for Cena’s retirement match. Cena’s retirement match is currently planned to take place on the final WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show of this year that is expected to be held on December 13th.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently considering plans to change the date of Cena’s final match so that it takes place on the same day as AEW’s Worlds End 2025 event on December 27th.
WrestleVotes Radio reported that their sources stated that WWE’s broadcast partner NBC has a preferred choice of December 13th for Cena’s final match.
In regards to a potential December 27th date, it was reported that those spoken to stated that while it remains an option, this date is unlikely due to NBC already has an NFL contractual obligation with an exclusive game on Peacock that night. One source spoken to reportedly stated that NBC would rather not compete with themselves if the December 27th date for Cena’s retirement match was chosen.
