ROH Death Before Dishonor 2025 Post-Show Media Scrum: Paul Walter Hauser on His QT Marshall Match, Shane Taylor on STP Winning ROH 6-Man Tag Titles Being Most Important Title Victory in His Career, Tony Khan on DBD Streaming Issues, Taz’s 2300 Arena HoF Induction Delayed to 9/3 AEW Dynamite Show

Ring of Honor held a post-show media scrum following Friday’s Death Before Dishonor 2025 event at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Some of the notable highlights included:

  • During his portion of the media scrum, Paul Walter Hauser gave his thoughts about his Fight Without Honor match against QT Marshall on the show. Hauser stated “What a dream come true. I’ve been where you’re sitting and I’ve been in the stands my whole life and buying the merch and evangelizing, preaching the gospel of professional wrestling, and man, when All In happened, when this company came together and to see what Tony’s done, I was just an instant fan because at the end of the day, this guy’s provided opportunities for so many people, and you know, times are tough. I don’t think there’s any secret that the economy’s in a weird place, the world’s in a weird place. In Hollywood, where I come from, there’s all these layoffs and stuff so, to see this guy opening these doors, spending this money and creating this world, I’m just very, very indebted to you (Tony Khan) as a fan, and to be a tiny part in tonight’s show was unreal.” Hauser also stated that he felt more equipped for this match than his previous matches and praised AEW for caring a lot about performer safety.
  • On the topic of his storyline feud with QT Marshall, Hauser stated “Weirdly enough, I wasn’t as nervous as I became excited, and I really believed the story we were telling. The kind of underdog outsider in the world of some of the best wrestling stars alive. I think we told a good story and at the end of the day, whether you’ve been tuning in long enough to know the whole alcohol in the face thing. QT (Marshall) and I have spoken backstage about that. As far as I know, that is a shoot-accident. That was not a planned thing. He was not trying to be mean. I appreciate him coming to me about that, and I just felt like whether you were with us from the beginning or you were just tuning in tonight and didn’t know what to expect, we were able to tell a story in the ring and that’s a feat into itself. That’s not always easy.
  • Hauser also revealed that he ended up getting the wind knocked out of him following QT Marshall’s powerbomb spot to him onto thumbtacts during their match. Hauser stated “Hand to God, I didn’t even feel the tacks. I felt the powerbomb, and the moment I was laying there with the wind knocked out me… didn’t have to sell much there.
  • During their portion of the media scrum, Shane Taylor Promotions’ Shane Taylor gave his thoughts about STP winning the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship against Sammy Guevara & The Von Erichs and what the victory meant to him. Taylor stated “I was the third ever black male to win the Ring of Honor TV Title and was told by so many that there would only be one man to win the World Title, which would be Jay Lethal, until (Jonathan) Gresham. I put, at the time, the six-man win that I had with Kaun and Moses above that TV Title win because it wasn’t just about me. It was about taking people with me and bringing other people up. This one tops that. This is the most important championship win of my 18-year career and it’s because of the people I’m doing it with. STP, prior, was smash mouth football. Now, we are the most complete unit in all of pro wrestling. We can do it all. You want to throw hands, gotchu. You want to go technical, gotchu. Tag team, gotchu. Trios, clearly, we gotchu. Charisma, intelligence, we can do everything, do it on, no pun intended, the elite levels. AEW is undoubtedly where the best wrestle, but Ring of Honor is where the baddest rumble.
  • On the topic of their ring gear, The Infantry’s Carlie Bravo & Capt. Shawn Dean stated that their gear was in tribute to the late ECW legend New Jack.
  • During his portion of the media scrum, ROH World Champion Bandido stated that after being two years out, since he came back to AEW and ROH, it has been like a dream for him. Bandido stated that he is excited to be part of AEW and ROH.
  • On the topic of his ROH World title reign, Bandido stated that being the ROH Champion feels incredible and he would be back to wrestle during the residency. Bandido also stated that he wanted a Philly cheesesteak.
  • During her portion of the media scrum, AEW Women’s World Champion Athena gave her thoughts about her match with Mina Shirakawa stating it was tough and hard and she considered Mina a great opponent but wished she did less dancing.
  • On the topic of her nearing 1000 days as Women’s World Champion, Athena stated that ROH was the be all growing up and brought up names like Samoa Joe and Bryan Dnaielson. Athena stated that now not only is she working with them, she had proven she is better than them. Athena stated that AEW is where the best wrestle but ROH is where people grind and become workhorses.
  • On the topic of a future rematch with Mercedes Mone, Athena stated that she is prepared for Mone if she is looking to collect a tenth belt. Athena also stated that she is also changing her mentality for a future “Timeless” Toni Storm rematch.
  • On the topic of the potential of more AEW/ROH talents appearing at the October 25th event for her Metroplex Wrestling promotion, Athena stated “But yes, it is going to be a very regular thing and Tony’s been very awesome with helping me with that as well so, we’re working on it. I promise I’m a little late because I was a little busy traveling the world and defending my championship and trying to win championships. But I promise you it’s a regular thing so, please stay tuned. I know by Monday, we are gonna be releasing the full talent list, and then we will start doing matches because I’m very excited to announce a few myself…
  • During his portion of the media scrum, ROH owner Tony Khan gave his thoughts about if AEW Dark, Elevation, and ROH contest would be added to HBO MAX. Khan responded first talking about the success of AEW on HBO MAX and stated that more content would be great and they are trying to put up more free content as well. Khan mentioned recent ROH shows being put on YouTube as an example.
  • On the topic of the streaming issues for Death Before Dishonor and the decision to put the show up for free on YouTube during its live broadcast, Khan stated “Tonight, our streaming provider had issues only with browsers, and if anybody’s a fan, and if anybody’s affected by it, I didn’t wanna have anybody that’s not included so I made a decision in the chair in the back while the show was happening. I put the show up free worldwide on YouTube… And I’m gonna give everybody a one-month credit, all the current subscribers… Really everybody should be able to get that credit, and I heard it was only on certain browsers. At first, we thought it only was (Google) Chrome and Firefox, but then also, they said Microsoft Edge. So I said, ‘You know, if it’s affecting those people, everybody should be able to just watch it for free on YouTube’ and we’ll rectify it with the streaming provider, Brightcove, that was responsible… The show we delivered was fantastic, and then I think new fans must have seen it. It was a well-received choice. People thought it was a good thing to do, and you know, that’s a lot of money — a month of subscriptions — I’m not gonna lie to you. We have thousands of thousands of subscribers. That’s hundreds of thousands of dollars that I’m gonna eat with a month subscription but it’s okay, because we made new fans. I’ll rectify it with the people responsible on the other end and the fans got a great show tonight and it seemed like almost unanimously positive response on social media…
  • On the topic of if AEW and ROH will return to the 2300 Arena for future shows, Khan stated that the fans have been excellent and the environment is awesome. Khan stated that he to do more shows here and loves Philadelphia.
  • On the topic of Adam Priest, Khan stated that he was a big fan and scouted him at a recent show. Khan stated that Priest was impressive in the British J Cup and praised him for being a great competitor. Khan also stated that Anthony Henry had asked for the night off for why The WorkHorsemen did not accompany Priest nor were at the show.
  • On the topic of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament, Khan stated that there could be tournament matches held during AEW Collision shows.
  • On the topic of Taz’s induction into the 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame, Khan stated that Taz had recently asked him if they could delay his induction to next week’s AEW Dynamite show in order for him to get more time for more of his family to attend. Khan stated “He asked for more time to get his family and everybody lined up. Taz did ask if I could please postpone the surprise induction for [Collision] until Wednesday. I have granted that stay for him. Tomorrow (on Collision), we were planning to raise Taz up into the rafter, but it was a surprise, and he tried to get his family and everybody lined up. He said, ‘Can you wait until Wednesday, please?’ We’re going to wait until Wednesday. It’s from him. It’s the least we can do for Taz. It is a real honor for us to do that for him in this building.
