Riho Makes Surprise Return at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the 2300 Arena on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured Riho making her surprise return to AEW.

Following Mercedes Mone’s victory over Alex Windsor to retain her TBS Championship, Windsor offered a handshake for their hard fought match which Mone refused and flipped her off instead. This led to a brawl breaking out and Mone getting the upperhand and locked in a Statement Maker. This led to Riho’s music to play and her coming out. Riho hit a top rope double foot stomp to Mone to break her hold and followed it with a running missile dropkick to Mone on the ropes sending her out of the ring.

As Mone regrouped on the outside, Riho grabbed Mone’s TBS title and posed with it.

This was Riho’s first appearance in AEW since July of 2024.

In a follow-up segment, Joe & Hobbs were seen backstage being interviewed by Renee Paquette for some words about HOOK’s status with The Opps. This led to HOOK showing up and telling them that he could fight his own battles. HOOK then asked Joe how they didn’t even wait a while to replace him in reference to Hobbs replacing HOOK after he suffered a concussion. Joe responded stating that he knows he didn’t wait for the body to cool to replace him and that opportunities wait for no one. Joe stated that they had to take a shot while the window was open. Joe then stated that he made the call to add Hobbs to the group. Joe stated that they will always have HOOK’s back.
