Update:
Fightful Select reported that Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling owner Scott D’Amore and TNA President Carlos Silva also denied claims that TNA talent are not allowed to work at MLP shows due to MLP’s association with AEW.
When reached for comments, Silva denied Dave Meltzer’s report and stated that TNA talent can and have in fact appeared for MLP.
D’Amore also had denied the report and stated “In fact not only has TNA talent appeared on MLP with the blessing of TNA, but when TNA needed help when last in Canada I connected them to a production house I have a 30 year relationship with. I got my printer to print materials for them AND even through I haven’t rented a ring out in 20 plus years I rented them ring, guardrails, etc when they were in a jam.”
As noted before, TNA talent Moose had stated in a recent virtual fan signing event for Signed By Superstars that he wishes he could work for Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling promotion but he is currently unable to do so due to MLP’s current relationship with AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that TNA talent are not allowed to work on Scott D’Amore’s MLP shows even though most of them like D’Amore. Meltzer reported that the reason is due to TNA management currently considers AEW as the enemy and D’Amore is allowed to book AEW talent. Meltzer also reported that he believes that this decision would have been made by anyone in TNA who cared about the talent and basically shows that at the top level, TNA is controlled by WWE.
Anthem Senior Vice President David B. Clevinger responded on Twitter to Meltzer’s report stating that none of it is true.
None of this is true, BTW. https://t.co/poajXK73AK
