As noted before, Hikaru Shida has been absent from AEW since this past November due to work visa-related issues. Shida revealed earlier this month that she had finally resolved her visa issues and had also signed a new contract extension with AEW.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Shida’s new contract is for multiple years in length.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Shida is well liked backstage and was missed by her peers during her recent time away from the company due to work visa issues.
It was reported that Shida’s abscense from AEW’s Worlds End 2024 event in December of 2024 had “raised eyebrows” backstage due to the event took place in an area where she was living at the time but those concerns have been resolved since then.
Shida reportedly is currently expected to return to the United States and AEW programming soon.
