Backstage Update on AJ Styles’ Special Ring Intro for His Match Against John Cena at Crown Jewel Perth

Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel: Perth event in Perth, Western Australia, Australia featured John Cena defeating AJ Styles in a singles match. This match was notable for being Cena’s 100th pay-per-view match victory in his WWE career and for also featuring a special ring introduction for Styles from Cena.

Ring announcer Alicia Taylor was handed a note from Cena and read from it for Styles’ special introduction, which was:

“The definition of Total Nonstop Action. The Ace and Undisputed Boss of The Bullet Club. It is our honor as fans and my honor as an opponent to see if he can beat up John Cena one final time. He is the face that runs the place, the phenomenon AJ Styles!”

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported on Twitter that his sources confirmed that Cena had actually written down the special introduction for Styles that was used for their match.

Alvarez reported that Styles had no idea that this was going to happen beforehand.

Jackson Drake’s WWE ID Contract Reportedly Renewed

WWE reportedly recently renewed Jackson Drake’s WWE ID contract with the company, according to Bodyslam.net.

No other details were given regarding Drake’s new contract extension.

Drake is the current reigning inagural WWE EVOLVE Men’s Champion.

Drake has been signed with WWE since November of 2024.

Ridge Holland Lisfranc Injury & Surgery Update

As noted before, Ridge Holland has been out of action for WWE since this past September due to a lisfranc injury and surgery.

Holland provided an update on Saturday on Twitter stating that his foot has been recovering pretty well so far and is currently hopeful of being able to go back to the gym this Monday.

“So, foot’s kind of recovering pretty well. Hopefully, I can get back into the gym Monday. I get a cast put on Thursday. I think I’ll be in that probably three weeks and then we can start weight bearing. But yeah, main thing is remain positive is I can get back into the gym Monday, ‘cause I’ve been going absolutely crazy…”
