As noted before, Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of 2025 and he has been absent from AEW since this past April. Besides Jericho, Britt Baker has been absent from AEW since November of 2024 and Andrade has been absent from AEW since earlier this month due to him currently believed to be under a non-compete clause with WWE.
Z100 New York held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about Baker’s current lengthy abscense from AEW and future with the company.
“She’s been away from AEW for a while, but still very much with us and at some point, hopefully soon, I’d love to see Dr. Britt Baker come back.”
Khan also gave his thoughts about the rumors of Copeland returning to WWE soon and denied it stating that the reason for his current abscense is due to him being out for a filming project and will return to AEW when he is done.
“Adam is out filming right now. I’m excited for him to be back in AEW, hopefully soon, after this project is done and he’s taken care of business.”
Khan also gave his thoughts about Andrade’s current situation with AEW.
“I have a ton of respect for him and I can’t say much more, other than to say that I’m very excited to see what happens next with Andrade.”
Khan also gave his thoughts about Jericho’s current abscense and future with AEW.
“We’re so grateful to Chris Jericho and Chris Jericho is somebody also that I would love to see back in AEW anytime. The door is always open to get Chris Jericho back in here and he’s been busy. He’s doing a lot of things.”
