Billy Gunn has been absent from AEW programming for the past several months. Gunn had revealed in a recent interview with the Fuel & Flex with Charlie William Parks podcast that he is currently dealing with two stress fractures in his back.
In a recent email sent to WrestlePurists, Gunn’s PR team gave an official statement clarifying that his current abscense from AEW is not due to a back injury issue and instead is simply due to him not being booked for shows of late.
“Billy is fine, this is a very old injury that he has dealt with for years. It does not interfere with wrestling or training. It just gets sore if he trains too heavy or hard.
Attached is a video today showing everyone he Is ok. Because of the internet, our phones have been blowing up asking if his back is hurt.
His absence from AEW is due to him not being booked by creative.”
