Ortiz Comments on His Potential Return to AEW Television
As noted before, Ortiz has been out of action for AEW since January of 2024 due to a torn pectoral injury and surgery. Ortiz made his in-ring return for the indies this past March but has yet to make an in-ring return to AEW.
A recent episode of the Wombreezy podcast featured Ortiz as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ortiz’s thoughts about his current goals for his AEW and indies wrestling career in 2026.
“I think eventually I’ll be back on AEW television. That’s out of my control at the moment. I’m still able to stay fresh and do independents. Keep doing as much independents as possible. Go over to England, Mexico, Canada, and maybe go to Japan and do it for a week if I can work that out. Just become a better wrestler and performer, and get back on television. Put into action all the work I’ve been doing and change people’s perceptions.”

Update on AEW Double or Nothing & Battle of the Belts Inclusion in WBD Media Release
As noted before, Warner Bros Discovery recently released their AEW programming schedule for this November on HBO MAX, TBS, and TNT. This media release was notable for also including AEW’s Double or Nothing and Battle of the Belts series being listed leading to some online speculation of this past May’s Double or Nothing 2025 event and AEW’s Battle of the Belts would be airing on TBS or TNT.
The Wrestling Observer’s Josh Nason reported that a WBD representative spoken to clarified the situation with AEW’s Double or Nothing and Battle of the Belts inclusion in the media release. This representative stated that Battle of the Belts would be joining the AEW archives on HBO MAX starting on November 21st.
This same representative stated that the November 28th date listed for Double or Nothing 2025 was for when that event would be added to HBO MAX for subscribers. Nason reported that date for Double or Nothing is when the exclusivity period for buyers of the event will expire and become available for all HBO Max subscribers on the service.
