Aleister Black Comments on Idea To Work With His Wife Zelina Vega Was Pitched In 2021

As noted before, the October 10th WWE SmackDown show featured Zelina Vega turning heel and joining together with her real life husband Aleister Black to help him defeated Damian Priest in a Last Man Standing match.

Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Black. One of the topics discussed included Black’s thoughts about how the idea of him working together with his wife Vega dated back to 2021.

“We started shooting little vignettes for it, and we started creating outfits for it. That first mask that I ever wore when I worked with [AEW] was actually one of the masks that was utilized. If you remember the Dark Father character that was at the end of my initial run [with WWE], that would eventually see my wife joining me… that was one of the pitches.

When I got back, the conversation arose again and initially [Triple H] was not really into it. But I think that with the success of AJ [Lee] and CM Punk, and Seth and Becky, I think that he kinda went like, you know what, this might actually really, really work. He was completely sold on it and he really liked it. And then it kind of started building from there [during] those last two, three weeks. Where we’re now looking at the presentation that you saw last week, and slowly but surely we’re adding elements. This is a work in progress.”

CM Punk Comments on Him Doing “The Best Work of My Career’ at 47 Years Old

KSL News held a recent interview with CM Punk. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about his belief that he is currently doing the best work of his wrestling career.

“I’m fortunate that I’m continuing to level up in this business. I just turned 47 the other day, and some people would say that’s a detriment; I think it’s one of the more positive things about me.

I’m ‘this old’ and operating on this level, doing what to me is the best work of my career.”

Punk also gave his thoughts about how he wouldn’t mind if his match against Jey Uso for the Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship were to be the opening match for this Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show.

“Every single match will be high stakes, high drama. People always talk about who’s the main event. But on a card like this, I almost want to be the opener; I want to get done with work and sit and watch the rest of the show. These matches are all hot.”

Tyrus Comments on His Belief President Trump Will Attend John Cena’s Retirement Match Show

As noted before, John Cena’s final match of his wrestling career will be taking place at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on December 13th in Washington, D.C. President Donald Trump is currently believed to potentially be making an appearance at this upcoming event due to its proximity to the White House and other leading political figures are also expected to be attending.

A recent episode of TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast featured political commentator and former wrestler Tyrus, former Brodus Clay in WWE, as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Tyrus’ thoughts about his belief that Trump will be attending WWE’s upcoming event and could even be involved in the finish for Cena’s retirement match.

“One thousand percent. If he says he’s going, he’s going. And that’s not by no mistake [the show being in Washington, DC]. He might even be in the finish. He might hit a binding resolution in the middle of that match. But, you know, I definitely think if the President says he’s going to be there, he’s going to be there. Because he’s a fan, he loves it.”
