As noted before, WWE Hall of Famers Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Ric Flair had been scheduled to make an appearance on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2025 show at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
During the show, Steamboat came out for his in-ring segment with Tony Schiavone but Flair was noticeably missing. This segment also involved FTR and Stokely Hathaway coming out to interrupt Steamboat and after some words and confrontation, FTR attempted to attack Steamboat only for Brodido to run out to save Steamboat and cleared the ring of FTR and Hathaway.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the reason for Flair’s abscense was due to a health-related issue.
Meltzer reported that Flair had made a brief appearance for the live crowd but then left due to him being in a “ton of pain” due to a recent rotator cuff tear injury.
Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known when or how Flair suffered the injury but those spoken to stated that AEW officials had to change their plans for him for the show due to he was originally booked to do something. These plans reportedly are assumed to have involved the Steamboat and FTR segment.
Flair last appeared in AEW on the March 17th AEW Collision show for a tribute segment that was held in honor of the late Steve “Mongo” McMichael.
