Chad Gable Shoulder Injury & Potential Return Plans Update
As noted before, Chad Gable has been out of action for WWE since this past June due to a shoulder injury and surgery. Gable’s injury was later revealed to have been a torn rotator cuff.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Gable is currently expected to be at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida to work towards being cleared for an in-ring return in the future.
Matt Cardona Confirms Temporary Merchandise Deal with WWE
As noted before, this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Albany, New York featured Zack Ryder, also known as Matt Cardona in TNA and the indies, making his surprise return appearance to WWE. Ryder’s return was later revealed to only be as a one-off appearance and WWE selling Zack Ryder merchandise was due to an agreement made between the two sides.
A recent episode of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast featured co-host Cardona confirming that he had recently signed a temporary merchandise deal with WWE for the sale of new Zack Ryder merchandise.
“I did sign something to let them do merch, temporarily. Could there be a Mattel figure? Could there be a Topps card? It’s really up to them. I’ve given them the rights, temporarily.”
Cardona also gave his thoughts about how he had to get new Zack Ryder gear made for him at the last minute due to he had sold all of his old gear except for some items that have significant meaning to him like his WrestleMania gear.
“Great experience, great night. You know, five years — it’s been over five years. I had to, with 24 hours notice, get Zack Ryder gear made. Because all the gear that I had wasn’t something I’d want to wear. But I did use my old boots, and they were, like, ripped. The straps were ripped. I had to get Shotzi’s husband Jesus to fix them.”

Maxxine Dupri Comments on Her WWE Women’s IC Title Victory
As noted before, Monday’s WWE RAW show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured Maxxine Dupri defeating Becky Lynch to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This match was notable for AJ Lee making her surprise return and distracting Lynch causing her title loss.
A recent episode of the WWE RAW Recap podcast featured Dupri as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Dupri’s thoughts about her WWE Women’s Intercontinental title victory.
“In the moment, I was overflowing with emotion. I actually cannot believe that this is on my shoulder. I cannot believe that I beat Becky Lynch. I cannot believe that I just wrestled in Madison Square Garden. I cannot believe that my mom, my dad and my fiancé were all here to see it happen. This is, like, truly the best day of my life, and if nothing good happens after this, I’m okay.”
Dupri also gave her thoughts about Lee getting involved in her match and her never feeling that Lee being involved took anything away from her title winning moment.
“I’m gonna lie to you though, I wasn’t even thinking about that because I firmly believe that if you use a candle to light another candle, the other one doesn’t lose its flame. There is room for both of us to shine in that moment and I think we proved (that) tonight. Did you hear the crowd when she came out? It was insane and when Jess, our referee, hit that three-count… I had an out-of-body experience hearing the crowd roar. I was like, oh! We did it. We did it…”
