CM Punk Comments on Regaining WWE World Title Being “Unexpected Treat” For Him
WGN held a recent interview with CM Punk. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about his recent WWE World Heavyweight Championship victory and him regaining the title in his WWE career.
“Oh, it’s tremendous (being back with WWE). Literally having the time of my life and I think it resonates. I think you can see it. This (WWE World Heavyweight Title) is an unexpected treat. Obviously, I’m older, I’m more mature, and I feel like I get it now. The weight of this, it isn’t so heavy but I have more of an understanding now. Like, yeah, this is part of the job and I know some day this is all gonna be over so I’m just enjoying it.”

Maxxine Dupri Reflects on Her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Victory
As noted before, Monday’s WWE RAW show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured Maxxine Dupri defeating Becky Lynch to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This match was notable for AJ Lee making her surprise return and distracting Lynch causing her title loss.
Dupri reflected earlier today on her recent WWE Women’s Intercontinental title victory and how much winning the title meant to her. Durpi also thanked everyone who had helped and supported her on her journey to becoming a champion in WWE.
“I thought I would wake up today with the words to describe what Monday night meant to me, but alas here I am never wanting to wake up from this dream.
Madison Square Garden, I LOVE YOU. WWE Universe, I LOVE YOU. @thedungeon2.0, I LOVE YOU. @flatbackstraining, I LOVE YOU. [Shane Helms], I LOVE YOU. The Performance Center, I LOVE YOU. My Alpha Babes, I LOVE YOU. [Anthony Luke], I LOVE YOU. My day one support crew (you know who you are), I LOVE YOU. [AJ Lee], I LOVE YOU. My insanely supportive parents, I LOVE YOU.
This win is so much bigger than me – I wouldn’t be here without EVERY single person that guided me along the way. And now it’s back to the lab, because I never want to let go of this feeling. We have so much more work to do. Thank you for being on this ride with me.”
