Wheeler Yuta Comments on Jon Moxley’s Goal of Elevating Everyone in AEW

Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso held a recent interview with Wheeler Yuta. One of the topics discussed included Yuta’s thoughts about Jon Moxley’s goal of elevating everyone he works with in AEW.

“With Moxley, his goal is elevating everyone. His approach, whether it’s setting up his matches or thinking of what he’s going to say on the microphone, it’s all about pushing himself to get his absolute best. That’s why he’s thrived in so many systems and circumstances. Cream always rises to the top, and you see that with him.”

Yuta also gave his thoughts about getting the opportunity to work and watch Moxley operate on a daily basis.

“Being out there with him is incredible. Seeing him operate every day is even better. His focus is, ‘How can we get better today? and ‘What can we do today to make The Death Riders better?’ He’s making the world of wrestling better. That’s his focus, and he performs with such passion. One day we’ll look back and have a new appreciation for watching one of the all-time greats.”

Backstage Update on Samoa Joe’s AEW World Title Victory at AEW Full Gear 2025

As noted before, this past Saturday’s AEW Full Gear 2025 in Newark, New Jersey featured Samoa Joe defeating Hangman Adam Page in a Steel Cage to become the new AEW World Champion.

Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that AEW officials plans for Joe’s title victory was something that had been in the works for a while.

Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Joe defeating Page for the title was something that was the plan for their match at least a number of weeks ago.

Anna Jay Expiring AEW Contract Update

As noted before, Anna Jay’s contract with AEW is currently believed to be expiring within the upcoming months.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that the prevailing belief within AEW is that Jay will be staying in the company. Jay reportedly is reviewing her options while discussions about her career future continue.

Those spoken to familiar with the situation reportedly stated that Jay’s working relationship with Tay Melo remains a significant factor in her plans for her career future. It was reported that Jay and Melo are expected to appear regularly for AEW’s developing Women’s Tag Team division if Jay agrees to a new deal. It was also reported that AEW officials continued focus on expanding tag opportunities for their women’s roster could play a role in Jay’s final decision.

It was reported that one challenge for Jay and other talents in the company is the limited number of televised matches available each year and something that can slow progression for wrestlers seeking more exposure and in-ring development. It was also reported that increased airtime for Jay and Melo is viewed as a potential benefit if the company moves forward with their plans for a dedicated women’s tag division being featured more prominently.
