Yuka Sakazaki Advances in ROH Women’s Pure Title Tournament

Friday’s ROH TV Black Friday special episode on HonorClub featured Yuka Sakazaki defeating Serena Deeb in a Quarterfinal Round match for the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.

As a result of her victory, Sakazaki will be facing off against Billie Starkz in the Semifinal Round of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.

Komander vs. Lee Moriarty for ROH Pure Title Announced for Dec. 26th ROH TV Boxing Day Brawl Show

Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan announced one new match for the card of ROH TV Boxing Day Brawl show on December 26th on HonorClub.

This new match announced was a ROH Pure Championship match of Komander vs. Lee Moriarty (c).

With Rush out of #ROHFinalBattle after his injury vs Bandido on Collision 11/15, Komander was called up for the World Title Survival of the Fittest.
Lee Moriarty will now defend vs Komander at ROH Boxing Day Brawl 12/26!
If Komander is World Champion,
it will be title-for-title!

Backstage Update on ROH’s Current Plans for Who Could Dethrone Athena for ROH Women’s World Title

Athena’s current record setting ROH Women’s World Championship reign has reached 1,084 days and counting as of Friday. During her reign, Athena has faced many challengers and none have been able to dethrone her leading to her calling herself the “Forever Champion.” Athena is currently scheduled to defend her title against CMLL talent Persephone at ROH’s Final Battle 2025 event on December 5th in Columbus, Ohio.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that ROH officials still have plans in place for Billie Starkz to be the person to finally dethrone Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship.

Sapp reported that the recent momentum for Persephone has not altered the internal expectations within ROH for Athena’s eventual title loss.

Sapp also speculated that Athena would have preferred to drop her title to Starkz earlier but creative decisions related to her ongoing storyline with Mercedes Mone affected the timing for it to be possible.
