As noted before, Queen Aminata has been out of action for AEW since this past November due to a neck-related injury. Due to her injury situation, Aminata was pulled and replaced by Mina Shirakawa for the Women’s Blood & Guts match that at AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2025 show in Greensboro, North Carolina that same month. Aminata has been scheduled to face off against Deonna Purrazzo in the Semifinal Round of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.
Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan held a media call earlier today to promote this Friday’s ROH Final Battle 2025 event in Columbus, Ohio. One of the topics discussed included Khan providing an update on Aminata’s injury staus stating that Aminata still has yet to be medically cleared to compete. As a result, Khan stated that Aminata has been pulled from her scheduled match against Purrazzo and Purrazzo will automatically advance to the Finals of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.
“Unfortunately, and it’s unexpected because we thought she would be cleared by now, Queen Aminata is still dealing with the aftereffects of that injury.
Queen Aminata was not cleared and she will have to forfeit. We’ve given her as much time as I could to have her come back and wrestle. The plan was to tape the semifinals last night. The doctors would not clear her to do that match.”
Purrazzo will be facing off against the winner of Billie Starkz vs. Yuya Sakazaki in the Finals of the ROH Women’s Pure title tournament to crown an inaugural champion at ROH Final Battle 2025.
