As noted before, Darby Allin was recently pulled and replaced by Jungle Jack Perry for the remainder of this year’s AEW Continental Classic tournament due to Allin not being medically cleared due to an undisclosed injury.
Sports Radio 680 93.7 FM The Fan held a recent interview with Allin. One of the topics discussed included Allin providing an update on his recovery from his injury.
“I feel [like] a million bucks right now, I’m not lying. I’m just not medically cleared, they’re saving me from me, which is fine, which is good. But at the end of the day, I feel amazing right now.”
In regards to the nature of Allin’s injury, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the current belief is Allin had suffered a concussion injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources also stated that Allin had suffered a head-related injury. Meltzer reported that Allin had stated that his leg stopped working for the reason for his injury but those spoken to had stated that it was a head injury instead. Meltzer reported that Allin is healthy enough to travel for shows.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that Allin was legitimately hospitalized after his injury but it was a leg injury he had suffered after clipping his leg during his Continental Classic Gold League match against Kevin Knight. Sapp reported that Allin’s injury was not as bad as it was played up to be on television and he had already been released from the hospital before the angle announcing his removal from the Continental Classic aired on AEW television.
