Andrade El Idolo Says WWE Will Let Him Wrestle in Puerto Rico But Unsure When He Can Make AEW Return
As noted before, Andrade El Idolo has been absent from AEW since this past October due to issues over him currently being under a non-compete clause with WWE after his firing from the company this past September. This non-compete clause is currently believed to be for one year in length over WWE’s claims that he breached his contract from his firing. Andrade revealed in a recent interview with DeporTV that his lawyers are currently in talks with WWE to resolve his non-compete clause legal issue.
A recent episode of Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast featured Andrade as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Andrade providing an update on the status of his non-compete clause and claimed that WWE is allowing him to work in Puerto Rico.
“I want to say thank you to my lawyer because my lawyer now has a letter from WWE. Because we had some little problems because I have the no-compete for 12 months.
Today my lawyer texted me and told me that Andrade, I have a letter signed that you can participate tonight in Puerto Rico in the company WWC.”
Andrade clarified that WWE’s letter only clears him for this weekend’s event for World Wrestling Council and he is unsure when he can return to AEW.
“I hope back soon to AEW. I don’t know when I’m back. For now, the letter is for just this show for Puerto Rico.”

Swerve Strickland Comments on His Reason Why He Changed His Entrance Theme from “Big Pressure” to “Hit Different”
As noted before, Swerve Strickland made his surprise return from injury at this past November’s AEW Full Gear 2025 event. Strickland’s return was notable for him coming out to a new entrance theme song called “Hit Different”
The Stunner held a recent interview with Strickland. One of the topics discussed included Strickland’s thoughts about his reasons why he recently changed his entrance theme song from “Big Pressure” to “Hit Different” in AEW.
“To me, that question is almost like asking “you’ve been very successful so why do you keep working?” I have never been someone to rest on my laurels. I keep dreaming bigger and I always want to top my last success. There are also other reasons for the change in the entrance theme. My character has developed greatly since first coming to AEW and I believe this song more accurately reflects my current character as compared to the old song.
Big Pressure” was created before I even set foot in AEW and before I knew what the future would hold for my character. “Hit Different” was created after my character has been established and was made to reflect that character.
I understand that people get used to entrance music and will often reject any change, but I believe in continually evolving and keeping things fresh. The timing was also right. I’m coming back after knee surgery and it’s a new chapter in my career. The new song is a quality song. I wouldn’t give the fans a song that I didn’t think was much better. Plus, who wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to make new entrance music with a hip hop legend like Raekwon!!”
