Powerhouse Hobbs’ New WWE Ring Name Reportedly Revealed
As noted before, Powerhouse Hobbs’ contract with AEW expired on January 15th and he recently signed with WWE.
BodySlam+ reported that their sources stated that Hobbs will be going by the new ring name of Royce Keys for his official debut in WWE and career in the company.
This is the same name that WWE had filed a trademark on January 20th for wrestling and entertainment purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Cody Rhodes Potential Heel Turn Update
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources denied recent online rumors of WWE having any plans for a potential heel turn for Cody Rhodes within the near future.
Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that WWE currently has no plans for a Rhodes’ heel turn and won’t do so it until it is deemed it has to be done.
Meltzer reported that the current feeling within WWE is that this will not be taking place any time soon and Rhodes’ merchandise sales numbers are still strong and nothing to be tinkered with.
Sol Ruca Comments on She Evolved Her Sol Snatcher Finisher After Online Backlash About It Being “Too Situational”
Fightful held a recent interview with Sol Ruca. One of the topics discussed included Ruca’s thoughts about how she had evolved her Sol Snatcher finisher after seeing backlash from some people online criticizing the move for being “too situational” for its setup during matches.
“100%. When I first did it on Level Up and it went viral and stuff. Initially, it was like a bunch of like positive feedback and everyone being like, ‘This is so cool,’ and then the more times I did it, I set it up in the same spot, like in the corners. I think that was like the first thing people picked up on. That’s when like a bunch of haters swarmed in and was like, ‘Oh, it’s too situational. Like it’s always going to be in the corner. The opponents just need to get out of the way or just like not be in the corner.’ So I was like, ‘Okay, bet. I’m going to figure out a way how to do it literally everywhere else.’ So that’s kind of what inspired me to prove them wrong and to show that I can do it wherever I want.”
