Frankie Kazarian vs. The Home Town Man

The Home Town Man started out strong, but Kazarian took the wind out of his sails with an eye rake and a stiff clothesline. As Frankie was in control, AJ Francis wandered down to ringside and joined the commentary team. Kazarian cut off a comeback from The Homer with another clothesline, then hit a slingshot backbreaker for near fall. Kazarian then choked out Homer with his Atlanta jersey. 

The Home Town Man started to come back and dropped a big elbow. Homer gave Kazarian an airplane spin into a cutter, but only got a near fall. Frankie went for a chickenwing, but Homer escaped and got a cradle for two. Kazarian came back with the springboard leg drop for two. The Home Town Man avoided the Fade to Black and went to the top rope, but AJ Francis distracted him. So, Homer came off the top and hit Francis with a crossbody to the floor. 

Kazarian went for a legdrop (I think) at the same time Francis was pulling The Home Town Man out of the ring, causing Kazarian to miss and hurt his hip. The Homer caught Francis with a slap, then rolled back in the ring and small packaged Kazarian for the surprise victory! 

Winner: The Home Town Man via Pinfall.

After the match, Francis and Kazarian attacked The Home Town Man, but the lights went out. When they came back on, Elijah was in the ring and he dusted Francis with a guitar shot to send the heels packing. 

Backstage: The Angel Warriors

Gia Miller interviewed the Angel Warriors. Tonight, they’re going to send a message to Dani Luna and Arianna Grace, and Lei Ying Lee wants her rematch.

Backstage: Santino Marella, Daria Rae

Santino Marella and Daria Rae argue in the back. They agree to make Arianna Grace v. Lei Ying Lee v. Dani Luna (owed a title match from Genesis) a triple threat match for the Knockouts Championship at Sacrifice. 

Mr. Elegance vs. Mike Jackson

Jackson is 76 years old and TNA has not problem putting him in the ring. 

Jackson ducked a charge from Elegance and sent him to the floor, then followed him out with a through-the-ropes plancha. Back in the ring, Jackson dodged another charge from Elegance. Jackson did an old (old Old OLD) school rope walk spot and followed that up with right hands. The crowd was going nuts for the old guy. 

Elegance finally caught Jackson with a kick to the gut and a clothesline from behind. The crowd chanted “You suck!” Elegance slammed Jackson, then posed. Elegance dropped an elbow, then finished off Jackson with a fireman’s carry into a spinebuster, which is called the “Excuse Moi” according to Rehwoldt. 

Winner: Mr. Elegance via Pinfall.

After the match, the Elegance Brand tried to dump some drinks on Jackson, but ODB walked in with a chair to make the save. ODB laid out Mr. Elegance with a chair shot and got the drinks from The Concierge, which they dumped on Mr. Elegance. 

Backstage: The System

The System challenged different TNA champions: Brian Myers and Bear Bronson want The Hardys, Cedric Alexander wants Leon Slater’s X-Division title (he is also owed a title shot from Genesis), and Eddie Edwards said the clock is ticking on Mike Santana’s title reign. 

Dani Luna & Arianna Grace vs. The Angel Warriors (Lei Ying Lee & Xia Brookside)

Lee and Brookside combined to suplex Luna. Luna rolled to the floor and dodged a dive from Lee. Grace went after Brookside in the ring, but Brookside dumped her to the floor, and the heels had to regroup. 

Back in the ring, Luna escaped an arm ringer from Brookside with a slam. Grace tagged in and missed an elbow, and Brookside took her down with arm drags and a crossbody. Grace got worked over in the Angel Warriors corner. Brookside used Lee and a springboard to drop an elbow on Grace. 

Lee took Grace down with a leg sweep and hit her with a dropkick, then pummeled her with fists in the corner. Luna and Stacks both tried to make a save, but Lee knocked them away and got a near fall on Grace. Grace asked for help from Luna on a double team, but Luna ignored her. Luna tagged in and stomped Lee, while Grace dropped to the floor to regroup with Stacks. 

Luna dropped an elbow on Lee’s back, then worked her over with hammer elbows to the chest. Lee fought back and took Luna down with a leg sweep. Then, if I can be serious for a minute, Lee locked Luna in a half-crab. Grace dove in to make the save. 

Grace suplexed Lee. Grace went to taunt Brookside, and Lee rolled her up for a near fall. Grace locked Lee in a chinlock. Luna and Grace started to argue, which gave Brookside the opportunity to tag in. 

Brookside took Grace down with a neckbreaker, which caused Grace to DDT Luna a in a convoluted spot. Brookside dropped Grace with a… er, Samoan Drop, but Luna broke up the pin attempt. Grace gave Brookside a lung blower for a near fall. Luna and Grace argued some more, which culminated in Luna shoving Grace off the top to the floor. 

Lee went for a dive on Grace, but she ducked and Lee took out Stacks. Back  in the ring, Luna hit Brookside with the Luna Landing and got the pinfall. 

Winner: Dani Luna & Arianna Grace via Pinfall.

Video: Injury Report

TNA Injury Report: 

  • Leon Slater is still injured after a piledriver from Young weeks ago. 
  • Indi Hartwell is out with a knee injury after being attacked by Arianna Grace. 
  • Cedric Alexander is sore but cleared to compete. 
  • Moose has a hip injury, but he is also cleared to compete. 

On Stage: Leon Slater

Leon Slater came out to address the crowd. He began to doubt himself after the piledriver Eric Young gave him two weeks ago. Slater started to doubt himself, but at Genesis he will stand “ten toes down” to break Eric Young at Sacrifice. 

Moose vs. Brian Myers

Moose is working his way through The System at a pretty quick clip. He’s got Bear Bronson next week, and Eddie Edwards a few days later at Sacrifice.

Before the match can really get underway, Santino Marella came out to remind the System they’ve been banned from ringside. Marella got the crowd to chant “na-na-na, goodbye!” at the System. 

Marella demanded the bell ring, and Myers turned around right into a spear from Moose. 

Winner: Moose via Pinfall.

Video: Rosemary, Allie, Raven

Thankfully, this was kept short.

Rosemary snapped her fingers, and Allie appeared. Allie wanted a change of clothes, because “she died” in the outfit she was wearing. They go to Raven, who is envious of Tommy Dreamer (note: Allie did not change clothes). Dreamer’s “face looks like it caught on fire and someone put it out with a rake.” He also looks like “Lizzo ate Abdullah the Butcher.” Raven presented Rosemary with Tommy Dreamer’s blood from a match in 1995.

Backstage: The System

In the back, The System is upset over Santino Marella’s actions in the last match, and the Bear is coming for Moose. Myers wanted to remind the Hardys who he was (a jobber? I think Moose took care of that) and went off to look for Daria Rae. 

Elayna Black vs. Jada Stone

Mara Sade joined the commentary team for this match.

Stone looked tiny compared to Black. Stone would bounce off the ropes and they’d barely move. Stone clotheslined herself against the ropes and Black got a near fall. Black slid in and hit Stone with an elbow to the back for a near fall. Black stomped Stone in the corner, then hit her with a running knee for two. 

Stone came back and hit Black with an enziguri in the corner. Stone hit a split-legged moonsault for a near fall. Tasha Steelz came out to distract Stone, but after fighting her off, she hit Black with a superkick. Steelz tripped up Stone when she went for a handspring, and Black hit the Blackout for the pinfall. 

Winner: Elayna Black via Pinfall.

After the match, Black dropped to the floor and got in Mara Sade’s face. Security came out to keep Black and Sade separated, ushering Black out through the crowd. 

Then, Mustafa Ali and the rest of Order 4 came out. They surrounded Stone in the ring. Trey Miguel ran in with a steel chair to keep Order 4 at bay. 

Backstage: The Diamond Collective, Jody Threat, Harley Hudson, Myla Moore

Jody Threat and her crew confronted Tessa Blanchard and her crew to challenge Blanchard to a match for next week.

The Nemeths (Ryan & Nic Nemeth) vs. The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent)

Nic Nemeth and Vincent started the match. Nic outclassed Vincent on the mat, then kicked him in the gut. Vincent came back with a back elbow. Ryan Nemeth tagged in, took a neckbreaker from Vincent, then tagged back out. Nic was double teamed in the Righteous corner. Vincent hit Nic with a flatliner, and Dutch covered for two. Dutch slammed Vincent onto Nic for a near fall, and Nic dropped to the floor to regroup. 

Back in the ring, Dutch pounded Nic in the corner. The crowd chanted “this is awesome,” but come on, it’s just okay. The psychology here felt backwards: the Nemeths are the heels and the Righteous are the faces, but Nemeth was selling like a babyface and the Righteous were double-teaming him like heels. 

Dutch hit Nic with a sideslam for a near fall. Ryan caught Vincent with a knee from behind, and Nic hit the Famouser for a near fall. Ryan tagged in and dropped Vincent with a hangman’s neckbreaker for another near fall. Ryan held Vincent open for an eyepoke from Nic. Now the psychology is correct.

Vincent tried to fight out of the Nemeth’s corner, but Nic took him down by his legs. Ryan came in to work over Vincent. Both Nic and Ryan mocked Vincent’s dance. Nic locked in a sleeper with a body scissors. Vincent fought to his feet, and Nic raked Vincent’s eyes. 

Dutch finally got the tag. He dropped Ryan with an elbow and Nic with an exploder suplex. Ryan hit the Black Hole Slam on Ryan for a near fall, with Nic making the save. Dutch mowed both Nemeths down with a double clothesline, and Vincent came off the top with a crossbody on both Nemeths. 

Vincent hit Ryan with a twisting DDT for a near fall. On the floor, Nic sent Dutch into the steel steps. Dutch rolled up Ryan, but Ryan kicked out and sent Vincent flying into Nic, who popped him with a forearm. Ryan then hit the Big Hollywood Ending (aka Danger Zone aka Zig Zag when Nic does the move). 

Winner: The Nemeths via Pinfall.

Man, the Righteous can’t buy a win in this promotion.

Mike Santana and Steve Maclin sat across from each other with a table between them. A waiter arrived and Maclin ordered “two drinks.” You can tell it’s TV because Maclin just ordered drinks and the waiter accepted that with no follow up. Santana said that when he returned to TNA, Maclin was someone who helped him prove he belonged in TNA. Santana looked up to Maclin like a brother, as someone who always had Santana’s back. Santana started talking about Maclin’s ego, but Maclin cut him off. 

Maclin talked about his experience in Afghanistan, getting out of his van to sweep for mines for two miles even though he had no experience. Why that makes Maclin a heel, I do not know. 

The drinks arrived, and Maclin took one, then put the other in front of Santana. Santana: “While you were away fighting someone else’s war, I fought a war within myself.” Yes, Santana used his past to get him where he is, but Santana made his past his superpower, but Maclin made his past his excuse. Santana hoped Maclin was ready at Sacrifice to fight for everything he’s complained about. And when Santana wins at Sacrifice, all the drama that Maclin caused will have been for nothing. 

Santana paid for the drinks (pushing “his” drink towards Maclin) and left Maclin with, “You’re welcome for your job.”
