As noted before, Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW since April of 2025. Jericho’s contract was originally believed to have been set to expire at the end of 2025 before later being discovered to have been frozen due to his current time away from the company. Jericho has been rumored for some time to be potentially returning to WWE.
In regards to the speculation of a potential return to WWE, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources within WWE told him a week ago that they currently do not expect Jericho to return to the company any time soon, if ever.
In regards to his current abscense from AEW, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there is a growing belief within AEW that Jericho could be returning to the company and as soon as tonight’s AEW Dynamite show in Winnipeg.
It was reported that Jericho and AEW officials have been discussing a return for him in the last couple of months.
